The fabric that GILL uses for their sail wear is based on the principle of adapting the materials specifically to the conditions at sea, rather than using branded fabrics of the outdoor clothing industry commonly available on the market. Why is this important? Instead of rain from above, water comes from all directions when sailing. Not only this, but the water itself is different. Saltwater molecules have a larger surface area and are more aggressive. Standard materials are nowhere near as suitable as the specially adapted fabrics of GILL sail wear.
