SECUMAR – Innovation, spanning over 4 generations. For over 50 years, the family business of Bernhardt Appartebau GmbH port & Co. has been developing and producing certified rescue products under the brand name SECUMAR. Starting with helmet diving equipment Jost Bernhardt, soon diversifies its company's product range towards the maritime rescue area. Encouraged by the "Parmir" tragedy in 1957 in which 80 sailors were killed in a storm even though they were carrying life jackets, Jost Bernhardt is working intensively on the development of an inflatable lifejacket that protects a person in distress even when unconscious. Through own scientific research and cooperation with experts and captains, the company constantly develops better life-saving equipment. Since 1964 Secumar has been working in close cooperation with the German Navy and has won many other international partners in the meantime.

PLASTIMO - Happy boating to you! In 1963 PLASTIMO started in Lorient on the French Atlantic coast with a range of 80 water sports products. Founder of the family business was Antoine Zuliani. Toward the end of the seventies, the figures revealed a lot more: PLASTIMO now sold 2,500 products, had 400 employees and founded its first subsidiary in the UK. Research and development focused on safety and compasses. In 1992 the PLASTIMO Offshore Compass received the French Industrial Design Award. In the mid-nineties PLASTIMO strengthened its reputation as a specialist in safety and pioneered the production of automatic lifejackets.
